There are not many reasons to watch these days but Spencer Foo is definitely one. Should be interesting to see how he does against a big physical team...although I think the Jets are resting several of their starters.

Haha no problem. I enjoy what I do, even though the games have been tough to watch at times.

With all this talk of the Isles getting our lottery pick I would love it so much if BT could somehow scoop up JT from the Isles in free agency.

Comon Hammer, get on the (frank)ing phone already. Play that friend card. Lie to him for all I care and tell him we're set up to be a great team next year and for years to come. Tell him he can bang your wife whenever he wants to. Anything to get JT here.

I know it will never happen but I can dream...

JT, Mony, and Backlund would make a fine 1,2,3 down the middle.

I agree. This will be a good measuring stick for the Foo. He was arguably the best player on the ice against the Coyotes last game. (I know, not hard...)

Played physical, played with energy, passed well, had 7 shots on net and played top line minutes. Looking good so far!!

Kevin.....where are you? Please explain your theory of the weak perimeter shots by the Flames this year.

Glen Gawdin is also having a great year. Second in the WHL in scoring.

Between Gawdin and Foo, to really good signings outside the system for Tre and crew! I'm pretty happy about that.

No worries. He posted a picture of himself with the caption "this is a picture of me when I was a baby." Apparently he's a black female. This explains so much..

Not expecting to see too many starters rest tonight. After they rotated guys in and out on the back to back vs the Sens and Habs, Maurice has talked about getting the full lineup in together for a couple of games as a tune up for the playoffs
Throw in the fact that 1st in the central is still a very real possibility I expect to see the Jets going at full strength tonight

Maple Leafs go deep in the playoffs and Tavares signs with them in the off season, Freeing up Mitch Marner to be traded to the flames for Brodie(Hopefully not Hamilton) + Prospects.

Yeah. This is what I was thinking as well. You have a shot at first in the Central, so take it. Would set you up well in the first round of playoffs.

Good discussion on the last post - let's keep that going. To all those saying we were a top xGF/corsi team (which they clearly were) and that the problem was less on Gully... What is your guys' solution?

Prolific scorers aren't just gonna fall in our lap and most prospects (Foo aside) are likely not ready. This lineup isn't good enough despite the stats, finishers are definitely needed

Potential in the system?!
Foo
Mangiapane
Dube
Phillips
Gawdin
Klimchuck(?)

Andersson
Valimaki
Kilington
Wotherspoon(?)

A scoring 2nd line centre with pedigree would go a long long way in helping our team. Along with a RW. Don't know where we're going to get them tho..

Free agents for RW? Neal, JVR, Hornquist, Kane, Kovalchuck...

Watch the game tonight & see how efficiently they pass around the perimeter on the power play until the D lobs a howitzer toward the net & if its not blocked & coming back on a breakaway on us, it will zip through bodies, maybe hit goalie but usually misses the net. Counts as a shot attempt though.

Count how many times we have a solid forecheck & get a puck out to an open man in the slot. Blows me away so many clinging on to the notion we are 3rd in league in high chance scoring opportunities, but 3rd lowest in goals for. This aint all bad luck & if you think so whatever it takes to sleep at night. Luck is random & most players go through goal scoring droughts. But something is seriously wrong in the perception of this discrepancy.
